Toplum’s architecture features clean lines, shapes and rhythms of patterns reflecting the simplicity and geometry of the Mediterranean culture. The spatial approach comes together by respecting the existing volume and focuses on enhancing the verticality of its 6-meter-high volume.

The space follows a central axis, a structured layout with seating wrapping around the walls, and a main communal table in the middle. The bar sits at the end of the space, divided into two separate volumes. The travertine cladded bar is contrasted by two wooden elements, one of which acts as a bold 12-meter vertical structure that connects the lower level to the mezzanine floor. Covered in a dense wooden pattern, these elements give a sense of elegance and grandeur to the space.

Studio Baab combined architecture and craftsmanship, focusing on elements and materiality of refined detailing. Raw natural earthy clay was spread throughout the surfaces, contrasted by the combination of clay and wooden blocks of different shapes and sizes.

The overall calm atmosphere is contrasted by the mustard color in the fabrics, and defined by a curated lighting mood that caters for an expressive warm setting. Sharp rays of light penetrate the space through the glass façade, accentuating the warm wooden blocks and the mustard velvet textile.
