Studio Baab is a progressive, interdisciplinary architectural design studio based in Dubai. The studio narrates space through a diverse, symbolic, and interactive vision: creating a dynamic experience through the study of materiality, form, and light.

The eclectic studio creates modern, timeless and contextual architecture, with a unique vision for each of its distinct projects, which include Aptitude at the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Ganache Chocolatier in Alserkal Avenue in Dubai.

Studio Baab draws inspiration from its name, Baab (door) which is an opening to a new area – a new experience.  The story of Baab is the connection between inside and outside. An idea of a space that imminently reveals what is on the other side of the Baab. This philosophy is embodied in the spaces created by Studio Baab, where design evokes an emotional response.

The studio’s work is a conversation between craftsmanship and innovation – a gateway to what is possible.

Every member of our team adds a different element to the work. With a range of personalities, backgrounds and experiences, we are able to execute our vision seamlessly with each project.

Ghida
Co-Founder & Director

Ghida was born and raised in Lebanon where she was awarded with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the American University of Beirut. After graduation, she relocated to Dubai and led a number of notable projects with reputable Dubai based design firms including Wai Wai design, Nakkash Design Studio and JT & Partners. Soon after this, she began her entrepreneurial journey with the debute of “Aptitude” at The Louvre Abu Dhabi. She launched Studio Baab, a progressive, innovative interdisciplinary architectural design studio in 2022 and today operates on a regional level. Her design approach is focused on natural materiality, form and light, and the balance between functionality and aesthetic spaces.

Nisa
Interior Designer

Nisa is an Interior Designer who graduated from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. She spent several years working at the heart of architecturally renowned Istanbul, overseeing hospitality and commercial projects before relocating to Dubai. Today she creates innovative and meaningful interactions through the lens of art, design and merging disciplines.

Sam
Project Manager

Sam graduated in business from the Mahatma Ghandi University in India. He has extensive experience spanning procurement, imports and exports, client and customer relationship management. Since 2020, Sam shifted his career and focused on project management, overseeing Studio Baab’s projects through astute supervision and execution.

Vishnu
Draftsman

Vishnu is a Senior draughtsman who graduated with a Diploma in Architecture from the DTE Kerala, India. He has over 10-years of experience in the field, overseeing a number of projects for leading firms such as T.ZED Architects and Besix, where he was involved in the completion of the ADNOC Headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Vishnu’s interest lies in the detailing and creation of design solutions to deliver refined yet functional moments in the space.

Behind the success of Studio Baab is a team of architects and designers who have created spatial designs for several leading architectural and interior design projects spanning hospitality, commercial and residential spaces in the UAE, KSA and in the wider region.

Drawing from a range of interests, disciplines, and experiences, Studio Baab’s ethos focuses on the balance of function and design. Our approach focuses on the adaptation of minimalist yet eclectic aesthetics and each project is envisioned and developed according to its specific needs and vision.
